AKP data management has moved!

Data management for the AKP’s community science program now takes place through Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s NestWatch. The entire AKP database was merged with the NestWatch database in March 2024, and AKP partners should now use NestWatch’s tools to manage their previously entered nest box monitoring data, as well as enter and manage data from the 2024 breeding season and beyond.

A survey was sent to all partners in February 2024 to aid in data transfer. If you filled out this survey, your data should be waiting for you on the NestWatch website. If you did not fill out this survey, your data was still be transferred from the AKP database to the NestWatch database, but will be inaccessible to you until you contact the NestWatch team to get your data moved into your Cornell Lab account manually. We ask that partners who did not fill out the survey please contact us for a proper data transfer rather than just re-entering their data in NestWatch! In addition to being unnecessary work for you, it will also create duplicate data in the system, affecting the accuracy of future data analysis.

With most of the AKP website’s functionality now obsolete, we have decided to take down the entire site on or around 30 April 2024. Keep in mind that all partner data has been migrated to NestWatch and will be accessible there; however, partners wishing to retain other information from the AKP website such as population decline data, community forum posts, etc., should download this information at their earliest convenience.
